The Maumee Indoor Theatre was first opened in 1946 as a modern movie house. Today, after extensive renovations, it stands as a historic icon in Uptown Maumee. In addition to daily movies, the theater can be rented for special events. Movies are shown daily. This is one of the least expensive ways to go to the movies.
Side Cut, the first Metropark, is named for the former "side cut" extension of the Miami and Erie Canal. In early spring, it is a destination for fishermen from around the country for the walleye run. Walking and biking trails follow the river and make for a scenic ride/walk.
Wolcott House Complex 1035 River Road 419-893-9602
Personally guided tours are provided by our costumed docents for school children, adult groups and are open to the public. The seven historic buildings are filled with art and artifacts representative of 19th century life and culture in the Maumee River Valley, beginning with the era of Tecumseh and William Henry Harrison, and continuing through the heydays of the "canal sharks" and the "iron horsemen."
